Abasa (Arabic: عبس - Frowned) - the eightieth sura of the Quran. Meccan Sura. Sent between Suras al-Najm and al-Qadr. Consists of 42 verses.A sura was revealed in Mecca on the occasion when the Prophet Muhammad met with the Meccan leaders to clarify the essence of Islam. During the conversation, Abdullah ibn Umm Maktoum approached him and said: “Oh, Messenger of Allah, teach me what Allah taught you.” In the midst of the Meccan nobility, it was not accepted that a simple poor man should be near them and interfere in their conversations.
